Hollywood is currently saturated with superhero stories. Superman, Batman, Spider-Man, Wonder Woman, Captain America, Iron Man, Black Widow — their legends and storylines are being told over and over, much to the enjoyment of fans.
But let’s be honest — women are the real life superheroes. We do it all: cooking, cleaning, careers, child care, errands, meetings, pet care, exercise, romance. To top it all off, we at Maven Fly believe each woman possesses an expertise. Using the very definition of what it means to be a maven — which is to be an expert at something — we want to hear your stories. What is your maven moment? How are you a maven? You might be a maven fly fisher, hiker, camper, cook, business owner or mom, but we know there is greatness in each and every woman.
Need an example?
- Oprah Winfrey is definitely a media maven. She rose from poverty and became the first African-American woman billionaire, and now she has mastered television, movies, books and radio.
- Despite your personal politics, there is no denying that Hillary Clinton is a political maven, as she recently made history by becoming the first female presidential nominee for a major political party.
- Virginia Thrasher, a sophomore at West Virginia University, recently became the first person to win a gold medal in the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
While you may not be a presidential nominee or an Olympic gold medalist, your achievements and expertise are one-of-a-kind. Maven Fly wants to inspire you to be a maven. Share your moments with us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter with the hashtag #BeAMaven.
