Everybody loves a girls’ weekend, right? Why not get adventurous, grab some friends, and hit the water for a fly fishing trip that you’ll never forget? These trips don’t have to only include fishing—you can also incorporate shopping, dining out, wine tasting, horseback riding—whatever “floats your boat,” so to speak. We’ve outlined some great places to fish, laugh and enjoy the company of great pals.

  1. Mammoth Lakes, California. This area is known for great skiing, sure, but also for amazing fly fishing that can be done by boat, shore or dock, all with the breathtaking splendor of the Sierra Mountains as your backdrop. There are plenty of resorts to choose from for plush accommodations, or opt for campgrounds if you’re going a more economical route.

  2. Katmai National Park, Alaska. So, you may want to extend this trip beyond just a weekend. Take some of the most gorgeous scenery in the world, add in incredible fishing, and you have a recipe for the trip of a lifetime.

  3. Florida Keys. Whether its inshore species like bonefish and tarpon or deepwater fish like marlin and dorado, the Keys offer amazing fishing as well as beaches and nightlife, making it the perfect getaway.

  4. Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Another amazing spot that combines sophisticated city offerings with some of the world’s best salmon and steelhead offerings, Vancouver is a win-win.

  5. The Bahamas. Imagine fishing in some of the world’s most crystal clear waters, with the sun on your shoulders and your girlfriends nearby. The Bahamas is perfect for relaxation, as well as fun times amongst friends.
